| Job Description: Under the supervision of the HCC Clinic Director, the Behavioral Health Program Director is responsible for the operational, financial, and clinical operations of the HCC BH Program including leadership, supervision and guidance to program staff. The Behavioral Health Program Director ensures the delivery of high-quality mental health care while supporting the organization’s mission to provide comprehensive, wholistic health care to the community. The BH Program Director identifies improvement opportunities and innovations designed to positively impact care delivery processes for HCC’s Behavioral Health patients, in collaboration with the HCC inter-disciplinary team. | PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Supervision
- Provide clinical supervision and support to associate/licensed counselors and interns, ensuring adherence to ethical and professional standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate ongoing professional development for clinical staff.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
Program Oversight
- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of clinical programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of the community and align with the organization’s mission.
- Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team of providers to integrate clinical services with overall organizational goals which include wholistic health and well-being.
- Maintain a minimum caseload of clients.
Grant Writing and Fundraising
- Lead efforts in writing and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for mental health programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders, providing updates and reports on program outcomes and impacts.
- Monitor and manage grant budgets, ensuring proper allocation and use of funds.
Administrative and Leadership Duties
- Coordinate with the HCC Director and other leadership team members to align clinical strategies with organizational objectives.
- Represent the organization in community meetings, conferences, and other forums to advocate for mental health initiatives and build partnerships.
Client and Community Engagement
- Foster a client-centered approach in all clinical services, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and responsiveness to diverse community needs.
- Develop outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about mental health issues and available services.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Must possess a supervisor license.
- Licensed Mental Health Professional with supervisor experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team, preferably in an integrated care setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Medicaid billing process.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in community-based mental health programs.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervision experience in a behavioral health setting.
- A minimum of 5 years of program management experience: program planning, program management, coordination, training and evaluation, and budgeting.
- In-depth knowledge of treatment approaches, evidence-based practices and assessment standards.
- Strong knowledge of regulations affecting the delivery of mental health services, including federal, state, and local policies and procedures and applicable ethical codes.
- Demonstrated ability to openly, honestly, consistently, and accurately communicate information to others in a manner that is respectful of various backgrounds (e.g. cultural, educational, religious, racial) creating two-way feedback channels and open dialogue.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with multi-cultural staff, collaborators, community representatives, funding sources, and the public.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations effectively and calmly
- Able to model appropriate, respectful and effective conflict resolution skills.
- Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software a must; experience working with Electronic Health Records systems (EHRs).
Additional Notes
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, typically 9 AM-5 PM
- Working additional hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Position requires driving your own vehicle whenever necessary to meet program needs.
- Valid NC state driver’s license and car insurance are required per state law.
